Juno Update - Congratulations Anne!
Anne has received an additional Juno nomination.

Juno organizers say a complicated formula used to determine nominees incorrectly factored in digital sales, resulting in omissions in two categories.

As a result, Anne is now up for best album of the year, against releases by Avril Lavigne, Celine Dion, Feist and Michael Buble. She's also up for pop album of the year.

Anne will share the stage on The 2008 Juno Awards, in a special performance, with two of the featured artists on the legendary songstress' latest release Duets: Friends & Legends – featured artists are to be announced at a later date. The Junos will be telecast on CTV (Canada) on

Here is the link to a recent Canadian Press story about Anne's new release.

Anne Murray Duets: Friends & Legends is a collection of Anne’s most classic songs re-recorded as duets with some of the finest women of song. The album offers a wide variety of some of Anne's favourite female voices including: Shania Twain, Martina McBride, Nelly Furtado, Isabelle Boulay, k.d. lang, Celtic Woman, Carole King, Olivia Newton-John, Emmylou Harris, Jann Arden, Shelby Lynne, Sarah Brightman, Celine Dion, Amy Grant, Indigo Girls, Dusty Springfield and Anne's daughter, Dawn Langstroth. Dawn and Anne’s son, Will Langstroth provided back-up vocals on some tracks.

Anne Murray Duets: Friends & Legends was produced by one of the most respected and prolific music producers in the world, Phil Ramone (Tony Bennett, Elton John, Barbara Streisand, Bob Dylan, Billy Joel), who has 32 Grammy nominations and 12 Grammy Awards to his name.

Songs include "You Needed Me," "Nobody Loves Me Like You Do," and "Danny's Song." Anne teamed up with Olivia Newton-John for Cotton Jenny. Also included is a duet of "I Just Fall In Love Again" with the late Dusty Springfield, using Dusty’s original 1979 recording. In 1979, both Anne and Dusty Springfield recorded the song " I Just Fall In Love Again," with Anne 's rendition reaching no. 12 on the Billboard Hot 100 and earning Anne a Juno for “Single of the Year” in 1980. With the blessing of the Springfield family and estate, a version of this song combining Dusty's original recording will also be featured on this package. Releasing an album with this type of sisterly theme wouldn't seem complete for Anne without Dusty's inclusion. They were friends until her passing in 1999.

The CD was recorded in Los Angeles, Nashville and Toronto.

Anne Murray Duets: Friends & Legends is sold on-line at www.annemurraycentre.com now - in the Anne Murray Centre Store or contact the Anne Murray Centre by email - amcentre@eastlink.ca or call 902-597-8614.

We've included photos from the sessions where Anne and her guests were able to sing their duets together in the same studio. Photos from these recording sessions are in the "Postcards From The Road" area of the site.
